Dustin Curtis:
When you first see a phone with a 4-inch or larger screen, it seems like a much better experience. I thought it was a technical decision, and it could be, but since switching to an Android phone — a Samsung Galaxy S II, the “best Android phone you can buy, anywhere” — 15 days ago, I have realized another huge downside of larger screens.
Remember all those anti-iPhone arguments back in the day about not being able to use it one-handed?

“PIE makes Internet Explorer 6–8 capable of rendering several of the most useful CSS3 decoration features.”
I’ve been waiting for an open-source project like this forever. A handy collection of the best hacks and tricks out there, that makes IE behave like a modern browser.
PIE seems to be the most elegant and organized solution out there.
It gives you text shadows, box shadows, rounded corners and gradients — that’s plenty of more creative freedom than before.
Now, none of this would be necessary if Microsoft played by the rules and followed the industry standards — like HTML5, and CSS3 in this case.
Anyway, thanks for PIE!
Nothing new, but still a useful tool for all (web) designers. For Mac OS X. From the great folks at Panic.
Wonderful HEX to RGB color tool for Mac OS X. It’s free, too.
Another color palette generator. Rather than being a simple web app, to me it seems more like a full-blown community, too. However, the website feels modern and the design is good.
There’s also a complementary Adobe AIR app.
